This spacious, pet-friendly home sits on the shoreline of Village Bay Lake and the forested property also touches the coastline of a sheltered bay on the ocean. Located 20 minutes north of Heriot Bay, Village Bay Lake is part of the chain of lakes connecting to Mayne Lake Provincial Park. The warm water temperatures offer wonderful summer water activities. Although a more remote location, the house has drive-in access, hydro, and all the amenities needed for a comfortable visit. The 2 story house is quite large, with approximately 2500 square feet of living area. The downstairs has plenty of communal living space, with a combined living room and dining room, spacious kitchen, large mudroom, laundry room, and a bathroom with tub and shower. There is also a quiet a corner library (for daytime naps) and a main floor bedroom with a trundle bed. The sweeping staircase leading to the second floor is well lit with natural light streaming through a 160 foot skylight. The upstairs hallway forms almost a complete square, with 4 bedrooms and an office nicely spaced out and offering private sleeping areas. The bathroom here has a Jacuzzi tub, and two of the bedrooms have small decks facing the lake and the rocky ridges at the back of the house. The most awesome feature of this home is the 180 acres of wilderness that stretches from the shoreline of the lake all the way to the ocean. Unmaintained trails follow the rocky ridges through towering fir trees shrouded with wispy moss and a forest floor covered in gigantic ferns to Village Bay, which has a south eastern exposure onto the Georgia Strait. Sea kayakers will be in heaven to have access to some of the best paddling around Quadra and beachcombers will love exploring the ocean shoreline.
