The vaulted ceiling in the main living area and wall of windows fills the interior with natural daylight. The warmth of wood is incorporated into many custom design features such as window trim, exposed Douglas fir decking, hardwood cherry floors, and oak kitchen cabinets. The kitchen also features an island with cook top, 2 sinks, a built in convection oven, and ample counter space.
The 800 sq. foot main floor of this Quadra Island vacation home includes a spacious entryway, bedroom with double bed, bathroom, kitchen, and the dining and living areas. The 600 sq. foot upper level contains the main bedroom with queen size bed, a second bathroom and a loft. A futon in the loft provides an extra sleeping option for 2 people. Heated tile floors in the bathroom provide a treat for your feet! Beautiful art work, photos and artifacts from the owners' travels through Asia and Central and South America add character and interest to this family friendly home.
A huge wraparound deck links indoors to the yard outside. A comfortable sitting area under the covered porch provides shade and a welcome breeze on those hot summer days. . You'll hear the calls of various kinds of birds in the surrounding natural woodland while relaxing in the hammock. In the summer season, help yourself to organically grown produce in the garden, fenced to keep out the deer which wander through the yard. Conveniently located on an 11 acre woodlot, midway between Heriot Bay and Quathiaski Cove on Quadra Island, Forest Glen offers privacy, comfort and quality.
